Reach Out Today!Adaptive Skills Training Using DIR®/Floortime

The ABA Parents Adaptive Skills Program addresses the practical everyday skills a child needs in order to function at home and in the community. Our program targets 4 Adaptive Skills domains: Behavior, Play-leisure, Communication, and Social Skills. When selecting goals, the clinical team will identify the functional developmental capacities such as shared attention, intimate relating, referencing, affective reciprocity, and emotionally meaningful use of actions and ideas as the building block for logical and abstract thinking, including higher levels of empathy and reflection. Sessions are provided in the home or clinic.
ABA Parents utilizes a relationship/developmental modality when targeting adaptive domains. The modality used is Developmental, Individual Differences, and Relationship-based (DIR®/Floortime).
DIR/Floortime model was developed by Dr.Stanley Greenspan and Dr.Serena Weider. It centers the child’s unique interests, strength, and challenges and uses the power of relationships and personal connections to aid healthy social and emotional development.
For more information on DIR/Floortime Please refer to the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and learning (ICDL) or Profectum.
Social Skills Groups Training

Early intervention (Ages 3-6)
ABA Parents has developed a Social Skills group for young children between 3 and 6 years old with mild developmental deficits who can function in a group with 4 to 8 other peers. Our Social Skill groups are structured, relationship-based and emphasize on turn talking, referencing, negotiating, following others leads, attending, waiting and self-regulating in a group setting.
Our curriculum has strategies, games, and activities that we incorporate into our social skills group to expand adaptive learning. Each group will be held at one of our family community-based centers, and parent group will run at the same time. Parent-implemented interventions (PII) consist of practitioners collaborating with, coaching parents in implementing evidence-based practices with their children through daily social skills opportunities in the home and community.
The curriculum is designed for a 16 weeks of ecologically valid lesson plan with weekly parent resource.
School Age Social Skills Training (Ages 7-12)
ABA Parents has developed a comprehensive social skills training program for children with mild developmental deficits who can function in a group with 5 to 10 other peers. Each client will have the opportunity to work on his/her individual needs, individual goals and area of concern. The program utilizes evidence-based practices with ecological valid topics.
The curriculum is designed for a 16 weeks of ecologically valid lesson plan.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a widely recognized, research-based treatment methodology for understanding and improving human behavior. Our clinical team uses scientifically proven ABA methods to bring about positive, meaningful changes in the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. ABA looks to reduce problematic behaviors and help clients develop new skills and more functional behaviors to foster the individual’s independence.
